PEOPLE POWER FOR FLORIDA ANNOUNCES AMENDMENT 4 AND GOTV PHONEBANKING
The largest phonebanking effort PPFF has made this far to turn out voters with a July 1st Kick-Off Call
[FL - June 10, 2024] Today People Power For Florida (PPFF) is excited to announce their 2024 Phonebanking Kick-Off Call on July 1st amid a summer-long push to turn out voters for Amendment 4 and help Floridians re-request their mail ballots.
People Power for Florida has already begun making phone calls to different regions across the state. So far this summer, volunteers have made over 11,000 calls and spoken with 1,071 voters who needed assistance re-requesting their vote-by-mail ballots. This kick-off signals an expansion of this phone bank campaign.
Volunteers are leading conversations about the importance of limiting government interference in our personal medical decisions and offering assistance to voters who need help requesting their vote-by-mail ballots post SB 90 – which requires that voters re-request a mail ballot each election cycle.
“Bills like Senate Bill 90 have created an information gap for voters across the state,” said PPFF’s Communications Director Allison Minnerly. “Our phonebank script aims to connect voters with the resources and knowledge they need to determine if they need to re-request their vote-by-mail ballot. We’re proud to have a team of volunteers doing this critical work to reach voters ahead of November.”
The PPFF team will continue these calls throughout the summer and fall and will shift its aim to getting out the vote once the October 7th voter registration deadline passes.
“Our phone banks work to increase awareness, engagement, and turnout,” said PPFF’s Phonebank Coordinator, Larry Kahn. “These phone banks work on close races and 50/50 issues where this impact is critical. And our efforts ‘work smart’ - making thousands of calls per hour to maximize volunteers' time.”

Since its inception in 2021, People Power for Florida has collected over 10,000 voter registration forms. In 2024, People Power Florida plans to continue registering voters and expanding its mission to become a leading source for Florida-specific voter education and youth empowerment.
